The Department of ThyroidBreast Surgery of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University was established in 2007, integrating cancer treatment, educationresearch. All medical workers serve the patients in the goal of “The Best ExperienceThe Best Effect”.

By far, the department has built up a comprehensive, standardpersonalized therapeutic system, containing 55 beds, 3 chief physicians6 associate chief physicians. Combined with the department of oncology, radiotherapy, pathology, diagnostic imaging, diagnostic ultrasoundnuclear medicine, the department is among the earliest organizations in Suzhou that initiated the multiple disciplinary team (MDT) treatment of thyroidbreast cancer.

With bold innovationstrong technical force, a series of new techniques have been developed surrounding minimally invasivefunctional therapy, such as the application of ultrasound guided minimally invasive breast surgery, endoscopic thyroid surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, etc.

The department is also closely bonded with Toulouse University. Through close bilateral cooperation, we have introduced the breast reconstruction technology during the firstthe second stage of breast surgery, also the breast plastic surgery technology. Our breast reconstruction technology is leading domesticinternational standards.

The department not only contributes to the fast growth of medical care, but also plays a unique role in medical education. We have 2 doctoral tutors3 postgraduate tutors. Annually, the department recruits 4 doctoral5 postgraduate students. Till now, it has cultivated 32 graduates.
