In 2006, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University took the lead in opening the first analgesic clinic in Suzhou area for the diagnosistreatment of chronic pain. As the current society it attaches great importance to chronic pain, the pain medicine is developing rapidly,pain diagnosistreatment is specializing quickly,relieve the patient of chronic pain of healthy living, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University set up the pain management in 2017, aiming at providing more professionalmore considerate medical services for the general public.

Currently, four people in the pain department are all senior professional doctors,including two PH.D.sa graduate student. With the opening of the general outpatient clinicspecialist outpatient department, with the opening of the new courtyard building in Xuguan, the pain section has ten beds, which solves the difficult problem that has been plaguing the patients hospitalization.

With the development of pain medicine, the pain section is no longer limited to a single druginjection treatment, but has multiple methodsvarious means to relieve the pain of the patient. Minimally invasive pain treatment under image guidance is the characteristic of the department, which is effective in treating pain by blocking, nutrition, decompression, modulation,even destruction of nerves. In addition, intrathecal implantation of infusion systemspinal nerve stimulation technique is also a resultful way to overcome intractable pain of conventional treatment.
